VISION:
Improving the banking system and financial markets in the European Union by identifying opportunities and threats, preparing forecasts (including warning forecasts) and proposals of innovations and legislative changes. We pay a special attention to strengthening a competitive position of the financial system by the way of:
- increasing the efficiency of support for the economic development and investment attractiveness of the State based on better operation of the mechanism of capital accumulation and allocation and the reduction of investment risks;
- getting prepared to operate in the conditions of the integrated European market and single currency: euro;
- increasing the safety of savings and financial transactions, as well as the comfort of citizens' life;
- allowing financial institutions, within the meaning by A. Rappoport, to acquire a competitive advantage.
SCOPE OF RESEARCH:
- stability of the banking system in the European Union;
- development of financial markets in the light of assumptions of the Lisbon Strategy;
- perspectives for the development of banking and financial markets;
- warning forecasts and definition of a competitive position of financial institutions;
- national and international regulatory and institutional conditions, especially those related to Poland's accession to the European Union;
- definition of a competitive position of the Polish banking system and financial markets;
- comparative analysis of competitive positions of national and international financial institutions;
- consequences of Poland's membership to the EU and the euro zone for the Polish financial system and markets;
- creation of local financial markets.
